Tante Nino: Grandmother Film Festival #2

Het Grandmother Film Festival is een driedaags internationaal filmfestival met 26 films van filmmakers en kunstenaars.
Het festival opent vrijdag 23 november met MOUNTAIN OF THE STRONG, PROUD WOMEN, een live film/performance door Hanna Wildow. Op zaterdag 24 november is onder meer te zien THE GRANDMOTHER (1970) van David Lynch. Het festival wordt afgesloten met GRANMA HAS A VIDEOCAMERA (2007) van Tania Cypriana, een homevideoverslag over 20 jaar van een Brazilaanse immigrantenfamilie in de VS.
De geselecteerde films zijn intiem en persoonlijk.
Soms schuurt het. Soms leeft grootmoeder niet meer, maar is ze aanwezig in haar spulletjes en in de herinnering van het kleinkind. Kwetsbaarheid en dood zijn nooit ver weg. Het lijkt dat vooral vrouwelijke filmmakers en kunstenaars als ze zelf kinderen krijgen geïnteresseerd raken in hun grootmoeders en zich afvragen wat het betekent om ouder te worden. Alle films nemen ons mee in het intieme familieleven. Wij publiek zijn bevoorrecht, we krijgen een familielid als reisleider.
Het programma bestaat uit 8 blokken met korte en lange films verdeeld over de vrijdagavond, de zaterdag en de zondag.
De 26 geselecteerde films komen uit Duitsland, Nederland, Roemenië, Rusland, Portugal, Georgië, Oekraïne, Griekenland Hongarije, Frankrijk, Israël, de Filippijnen, Colombia, Rusland, Brazilië, de VS, het VK en IJsland. Meerdere makers zijn aanwezig.
